Proctor Group Ltd. Corporate Day

This year, The A. Proctor Group Ltd. – a specialist construction products business, decided to treat their staff to a fantastic day out!  Around 40 of the staff visited Tank Driving Scotland to take part in a spot of Tank Driving and shooting.  Even better, they were joined by their kids, who all got to experience life as a soldier!!  The best driver won a bottle of champagne, and the best shot a bottle of wine.  Unfortunately it happened to be one individual who was multi talented, they were well prepared for their Saturday evening!

Thanks to Proctors for visiting us, we’ll see you next year!

Pippa’s Hen Day!

A fabulous choice was made by our good friend Pippa this month.  She decided to hold her hen party at Tank Driving Scotland!  The 15 girls descended onto our site on the 31st May dropped off in a pink Limo to begin the action.  Arriving in very pink attire (with some rather interesting head bands!), the girls made a quick change into army gear and got camouflaged up Tank Driving Scotland style.

After negotiating the course in the Tank and Mini Monster Truck – the ladies had to negotiate their way to the Digger driving through our army trenches!  (Lots of loud bangs involved, which resulted in LOTS of screaming!).  Pippa was a dab hand at operating the digger bucket and this was her favourite activity (am I feeling a change of job coming on?!!).

Pippa’s hen party was enjoyed by everyone, from ages of young adult to her granny!  We all took part and had a fabulous time.  When the limo arrived for the pick up, it was just no comparison to the other vehicles on the day…  Pippa’s hen party went on for a wonderful BBQ in the garden with a very specially ‘Butler’ in an apron.  It was unfortunate he had to cook the barbeque (burning hazard!).  I believe the evening finished with some terrible renditions of ‘I will survive’ on the karaoke.

We are so pleased to have provided a fantastic hen party for Pippa – and she promises that if this marriage doesn’t work out, she’ll be back for her next hen!

Princes Trust Dundee Team at Tank Driving Scotland

Our friends at the Princes Trust asked if we could look after their Dundee team for an afternoon.  We provided some challenging team building games, and I must say some of the team were spectacularly good at avoiding mines when blindfolded! (I sense some cheating going on!).

Each member of the team had the opportunity to drive the tank around the course, and the afternoon was thoroughly enjoyed by all.  I’m sure a couple of the team went off to sign up for the tank regiment in fact!

Alford Military Show Winners visit Tank Driving Scotland

So, we took ourselves up to the Alford Military Show last month.  It was a great day, with a Saracen Tank doing its rounds much to the awe of the kids. We even stayed overnight for a military themed BBQ, a first for us, and although we didn’t have the right attire, we were welcomed by the Military Vehicle Club to listen to 40’s war music, drink Scottish beer, and talk military machines.

As part of the show, we’d set up a great little shooting range, and were frequently visited by two young guys, absolutely fanatical about anything military.  They had the full kit on and loved hearing about the tanks.  It just so happens, they were lucky enough to win our Tank Driving Ticket in the Alford Military Show raffle.  So the family of Kyles came down to the site this month and had a great time shooting and going in the tank!  You’re welcome back anytime!

Father’s Day Visit

This fathers day, we decided to invite both of our parents out for a driving experience on the tanks.  This wasn’t just to save money on a gift – we knew they would love it!  What would have been a good idea, is if Rod had actually told his parents that he was showing them a tank prior to them coming out to drive!  I think they got the shock of their lives!  They both turned up, dressed for a Sunday lunch at Auchterhouse’s restaurant – Ann had lovely patent shoes on – see attached!  After the initial shock, both Ann and Roy got stuck into driving the tank and had a fabulous day.

Allan, being ex military, was the nightmare driver we always dread coming to Tank Driving Scotland.  You’re not in the war now Sir!  The words ‘slow down’ apparently mean nothing to Allan – who bombed around the course over 6ft inclines like he was being chased by a weapon of mass destruction.   Elaine on the other hand was too frightened to actually get into the drivers seat.  Rod took control and she stood out of the commanders hatch while he drove the course.  She had an amazing time and was desperate to go round again!
