The crew who were in Blairgowrie filming for next years programmes decided that an ending with a difference would be just the ticket.

Armed but not dangerous, our fearless duo slid into our fantastic vehicles for a battle royale! The race was on… a few small dips (ha, ha!) and a few puddles later our daring duo returned to base, shaken and stirred, adrenalin pumping and all guns blazing! Laughter all round could be heard for miles as what appeared to be sea legs appeared from our awesome machines.

Mark arrived at Tank Driving Scotland complete with troops. Fortunately the weather held off and sunshine all round was the order of the day.

The squad of guys got into the spirit of the day and donned the outfits with specially prepared make up (cause they’re worth it!) and took control of one of our fantastic machines which was then followed by a half day of action packed paintball including being dropped off into battle by tank.

Mark and the guys loved their day so much with us that they have given Tank Driving Scotland the seal of approval, a rematch may well be on the cards!

After a Couple of weeks in the workshop the Abbot Spg has been stripped of all the old moldy paint with an air chisel as in some places the paint was about 5mm thick!

The then naked machine was given a couple of thick coats of read oxide primer before the final decision of it’s end coulor,

Desert sand was the first choice and after a couple of coats the Abbott was looking on top form, all the additional parts were detailed in black to make the Spg look like a mean machine.

Now the hard bit! We have an engine pack that is missing some parts & some vital wiring is missing from the vehicle , Not to good but we are sourcing the parts to get the vehicle operational in the near future,

This vehicle is a ground to air, radar guided missile launch and only a limited number of these still  exist in the UK.

This is a fantastic machine to drive with easy access for drivers as entry is through a car style door rather than climbing down a hatch into the drivers seat.

The vehicle is ready for service and will be available shortly as a driving experience.

The Abbott Self propelled gun will be restored to working order ready for operations in the coming months.

This will be a unique experience where you get to drive this machine hatch down in battle conditions looking through the periscope!

After negotiating the course in the Tank and Mini Monster Truck – the ladies had to negotiate their way to the Digger driving through our army trenches!  (Lots of loud bangs involved, which resulted in LOTS of screaming!).  Pippa was a dab hand at operating the digger bucket and this was her favourite activity (am I feeling a change of job coming on?!!).

Pippa’s hen party was enjoyed by everyone, from ages of young adult to her granny!  We all took part and had a fabulous time.  When the limo arrived for the pick up, it was just no comparison to the other vehicles on the day…  Pippa’s hen party went on for a wonderful BBQ in the garden with a very specially ‘Butler’ in an apron.  It was unfortunate he had to cook the barbeque (burning hazard!).  I believe the evening finished with some terrible renditions of ‘I will survive’ on the karaoke.

We are so pleased to have provided a fantastic hen party for Pippa – and she promises that if this marriage doesn’t work out, she’ll be back for her next hen!

Allan, being ex military, was the nightmare driver we always dread coming to Tank Driving Scotland.  You’re not in the war now Sir!  The words ‘slow down’ apparently mean nothing to Allan – who bombed around the course over 6ft inclines like he was being chased by a weapon of mass destruction.   Elaine on the other hand was too frightened to actually get into the drivers seat.  Rod took control and she stood out of the commanders hatch while he drove the course.  She had an amazing time and was desperate to go round again!
